Earlier this year we saw the infamous House Of Vans come to Manchester. It was most definitely a weekend to remember or maybe forgotten by a handful due to the amount of alcohol consumed. Friday night saw one of the best parties Machester had seen since the Hacienda days and Saturday was a jam packed day full of fun activities from skate lessons for the kids, an incredible art exhibition thanks to local artist ‘Krek’ and a competition where some of our riders managed to take home a piece of the prize money. To recap simply hit the link… House Of Vans MCR.
On the Sunday we were given the chance to take some of the ramps including the curved flat bar which was designed by ourselves from the competition the previous day. This allowed us to hold the ‘Black Sheep x House Of Vans Mangle Street Jam’. Early Sunday morning saw the calm before the storm because as the day unraveled so did the masses of people. By the early afternoon the street was packed full of skaters and also the general public having a nosy whilst making use of the free beer. Yes more booze to be consumed! The jam consisted of a cash for prize policy which in my eyes sees shredders at there best potential laying down tricks left right and centre trying to grab themselves a quick tenner. A few dudes that stood out from the rest were our team riders Eddie Belvedere, Jake Potts, Jordan Sharky and Jiri Burlin. Other shredders that made an appearance who also killed it were Nev, James Grindley, Sam Jones, Armani Rochford plus many more.
The hype was flowing all day due to our Sheep family Stu Reynolds who was the MC for the day. Music was blasted out into the street, generally grime and drum n bass thanks to Rob ‘Dogger’ Smith. It was certainly a day to remember. We are extremely proud and stoked to have held something that was such a success for the people of Manchester and the feedback has been nothing but brilliant. We would like to thank all involved and especially those would made the effort to attend.
