Louie Lopez’s “HOLY STOKES!” Over Stokes

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

Hopefully you’ve all seen the new Volcom ‘Holy Stokes’ video by now, if you haven’t then it is available to purchase on itunes as we speak for just £6.99. A bargain for one of skateboarding’s latest videos. As expected Holy Stokes features Louie Lopez, who has been a member of the Volcom team since he was a little nipper. His part on it is possible one of the best on there from my point of view. He definitely isn’t the small kid we all know him as anymore. His style has evolved massively and now thanks to Thrasher Magazine you can watch his Louie Lopez’s “HOLY STOKES!” Over Stokes video. It features footage that was used in Holy Stokes but then you’ve also got some clips that have never been seen before until now. This raw 10 minute watch is incredible and if you aren’t hyped by the end then something must be up.

Daniel ‘Snowy’ Kinloch – Landscape Remix

Wednesday, June 29th, 2016

For those of you who didn’t know, Daniel ‘Snowy’ Kinloch was the reason Fos decided to start a small British company some thirteen years ago. Snowy didn’t really fit the whole Heroin vibe going on so Fos came up with the idea to create Landscape Skateboards. Through the years gone by Snowy has continually smashed it , travelling all over to log clips for videos like Portraits, Horizons and a number of other projects. It’s a real shame but Snowy has decided to hang up his pro boots and move on, Landscape are sending a ‘ good luck our kid’ remix edit of some of Snowy’s archive footage to remind you how hard he shreds. Looks like Landcape will be needing a new pro ?!?!?!

Max Geronzi ‘Max Is Pro’ Part

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

Max Geronzi recently turned pro for Cliche Skateboards. Max who is from Perpignan, France has shared a montage with Paul Hart and Adrien Coillard in Cliché’s Bon Voyage in 2013 and had a banging part in Gypsy Life last year in 2015. Things have changed since then and Max has been hard at work which has resulted in his new pro status. This, his debut pro part is filled with some solid skateboarding from flowing tech lines, skating the most crusty spots imaginable and some stair bangers it really is a well rounded versatile part. Well done Max!

Youness Amrani Battle Commander

Monday, June 27th, 2016

When you start a part with a ridiculously long steezed backside tailslide people should take notice. That’s what Youness Amrani does straight away and immediately grabs your attention. The part was first shown during the Battle At The Berrics 9 finals, Amrani himself finished third overall in this years competition. This part proves that the Nike SB and Almost rider is much more capable of just skating flat ground really well. Every clip in this is pretty much a jaw dropper, hammer after hammer it’s intense. We might have given a little spoiler to the opening but we will say no more and let you discover everything else for yourself.

Now once all the hard work has been done a few of their riders have decided to go on a little UK tour visiting spots and skate shops across the country. This Sunday, June 26th, 3PM will see them come and visit us here in store at the Black Sheep so come on down to meet Cian Eades, Fernan Origel, Carlos Zarazua, Adrien Bullard, Mark Frölich and Carlos Neira. There will be a chance to skate with them afterwards at the cage (Projekts Skatepark) and there will also be some freebies to give away so don’t miss out. New Jake Potts Part

Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

If you saw Jake Potts on the streets of Manchester when he wasn’t out skating then you may assume he was a member of the Made In Chelsea crew as his dress sense is off the wall. If you saw him on the streets skating then that would be a different story, he is one of Manchester’s youngest rippers and has proved himself with this long awaited part that showcases the true skills he has. I’m a fan and have been from the start, his mad style combined with the unusual but yet technical trick selection is powerful. He’s only going to go on and get better and better. The highlight for me from this part is the wall-ride shuv out, now that’s something that I will never be able to understand. I really enjoyed this section, the music is on point, the skating includes a variety that only a few can produce and it is generally just a good watch. Hopefully they’ll be more edits to come from Jake Potts in the near future but for now enjoy this current one.

Vans Shop Riot Winners

Thursday, June 23rd, 2016

For the seventh time we have won the infamous Vans Shop Riot competition winning a place into the European Finals in Portugal this September, where we’ll go head-to-head with other top stores from across the continent. Although winning that one too won’t be a problem as we’ve already managed to bag 1st place in the European competition twice before. It’s just too easy, especially when you have the likes of Jordan Sharkey, Jiri Bulin and Rob Smith as your team. I mean we have got all aspects covered like Rob jumping off anything on offer, the incredible consistent skating that Jordan produces then the mind boggling technical ability that Jiri has, unstoppable. We are really proud to have won the UK Shop Riot, it’s just the European one that needs to be brought back to Manchester. Good work guys and bring that trophy home.

The GX1000 Video

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Ryan Garshall has been popping out edits for a number of years now but this spring he dropped a full length video – GX1000, and is now online thanks to Thrasher Magazine. It is full of raw street skating, hill bombs and near misses with traffic and pedestrians – just what street skating is all about. It has footage of a number of people such as Ben Gore, Mark Gonzales, Al Davis, Jake Johnson, Stevie Perez, Jordan Trahan, Marius Syvanen, Yonnie Cruz, Jason Spivey, Matt Finley, Taylor Nida, Brian Delatorre, Andrew Torralvo, Sean Greene, Tylet Pacheco, Hiroki Muraoka, Abidas Rivera and Tony Manfre. If this doesn’t get you hyped to skate, I don’t know what will.

Axel Cruysberghs – Welcome to Toy Machine

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Earlier this month via the wonders of Instagram it was announced that Axel Cruysberghs would be officially being added the the Toy Machine Am team. To correctly celebrate this achievement, Toy Machine have released his welcome clip online, it may only be a minute long but you can see why he’s been added to the roster. From his stand out part in Where We Come From (2015) , his current ripping on this years king of the road and his now Am status Axel doesn’t seem like slowing down any time soon.

Jamie Foy’s ‘Twoché’ Part

Monday, June 20th, 2016

Jamie Foy is having a pretty good year so far and were only half way through. He’s already had a Recruited and a full part released via the Berrics, then came another full part for Red Bull, as if that wasn’t enough he’s just released another full part this time via Thrasher. Now considering that it’s only June and he has four parts under his belt were pretty sure that we will be seeing a lot more from the Nike SB representative as the year goes on. This new part includes some expectedly heavy San Francisco footage and his ender is one of the heaviest tricks to go down in San Fran history. They call him “The Big Pinch” and if you don’t understand why, you will after watching this.
