Krooked Skateboards Mermaid video - Bobby Worrest alert!

If there's one thing that DLXSF's Gonz led brand Krooked skateboards can be relied on to produce, it's banging video content. With a long back catalogue of releases including the only-on-VHS 2007 classic 'Gnar Gnar', (which predated the current vogue for low-fi VHS skate videos by at least a couple of years) and skateboarding's only ever 3-D video 'Krook3d' to name just two - Krooked's unique take on skateboarding has seen them quietly but solidly dominate the over-saturated skateboard airwaves since their inception. Their latest straight-to-web piece - Krooked Skateboards Mermaid video serves up 10 minutes of new footage of most of the squad, (the originator and skateboarding's own gaffer Mark Gonzales is sadly absent from this one) with a grip of footage from Brad Cromer, Matt Gottwig, Simon Jensen, Eddie Cernicky, Ronnie Sandoval, Felipe Bartolome and Mike Anderson, plus a 3 minute ender of a Bobby Worrest section and a fair few cameos including none other than Ray Barbee, (who's rumoured to be riding for Krooked in some capacity after parting ways with Element recently).     As with everything Krooked put out - Mermaid is a cornucopia of skateboarding with everything from ditches, Ronnie Sandoval backyard DIY tranny carnage, and lines at what's left of the infamous Justin Herman Plaza in SF (AKA 'EMB') getting a shoeing from the Krooked warriors. Add to that a warm and enjoyable vibe, a banger of a soundtrack (who knew that the Tom Tom Club or HUM's 'You'd prefer an Astronaut' would go so well with skating?) and a brace of Brad Cromer majesty and you're basically laughing. Put your phone down for a second, boy off the slow mo/trap music late flip clips and enjoy some realness.     Krooked Skateboards Mermaid video - Bobby Worrest alert!     As we've mentioned our appreciation for Krooked Skateboard's previous video output it seems churlish not to throw a classic in here too, just so you can continue to bask in the Gonz-iverse following watching Krooked Skateboards Mermaid video. Scroll below and remind yourself of just how far ahead of the curve Gonz was with Gnar Gnar - long before Palace skateboards repopularised the VHS aesthetic, (and by doing so launched a million Instagram copycats), Krooked were releasing full-length VHS videos complete with obscure (ish) tracks by New Order and The Smiths. Damn well makes you think eh?     If you're still keen for more from Krooked Skateboards - take your fingers for a wander around our extensive Krooked range, including everything from adidas Skateboarding X Krooked collabo merch, to Krooked decks, Krooked soft goods, cruiser wheels and of course, the classic Krooked Zip Zingers. Now go learn eggplants.
