Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards

Thursday, September 2nd, 2021

Well, it’s been a long time coming but finally Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards. UK-based British skateboarders turning pro for American board companies is still very rare, (was Kyron Davies the last one?) but with Harry it was only a matter of time.
Funnily enough, Harry filmed the ender for his 2011 Sidewalk magazine ‘In Progress’ part exactly ten years ago, (September 1st 2011) so it’s pretty wild that 10 years and 1 day later, his name will finally adorn a pro model. As a long-time Black Sheep family member who has been tied into everything we do for a decade at least, it definitely feels great to legitimately be able to say out loud that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards.
Whatever your views are on the current situation of wider skateboarding culture in 2021, it’s going to take a pure bellend to question Harry’s right to this one. I mean yeah, it’s Real Skateboards, one of the first post Bones Brigade/post Steve Rocco skater-owned brands with a heritage stretching back to 1991 and founded by Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud but, on the other hand, this is Harry fucking Lintell we’re talking about.
Before I get too carried away force feeding you nuggets of video history let’s all just take a minute, breathe in and reflect on how fucking cool this is. A kid from Ashford in Kent, ‘discovered’ via a DVS get yourself sponsored contest in Sidewalk magazine, who went on to ride for a number of board brands through his friendship with all of here at Black Sheep (Jart, then Superdead) has gone on to move to Manchester, make waves globally and end up with a pro board on probably the most venerable skater-owned skate company on the planet. And we had to pretend we didn’t know about it in order to pull off his in-store board release party that happened tonight (Sept 2nd 2021). What a fucking trip.

You can buy yourself one of Harry’s boards (which will sell out very quickly make no mistake) by clicking below. You know what to do.

Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards

With the above said, and in celebration of the fact that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards, allow me the liberty of throwing a few possibly lesser known Lintell bangers at your eyes because, well just because…

First up, Harry’s 2011 Sidewalk ‘In Progress’ referenced above – the 5050 on the kinked subway rail in Sheffield was filmed on Sept 1st 2011 – quite the coincidence.

Next up, a pretty obscure one that I’m assuming many people won’t have seen but that absolutely deserves a re-watch. This is the i-Path shoes entry for the 2010 Big Push and Harry’s final trick in Leeds is still FUCKED 11 years later. The video is set to play from the start of Harry’s section but the whole piece is worth your eyes.

Next up is Harry’s Volcom ‘True to this’ part filmed by long-term friend and cohort Kevin Parrott. Again, watch this, consider the fact that it’s 6 years old and weep at the knowledge that Harry did the switch flip over the rail at Southbank on three separate occasions.

And last but by no means least and probably the least obscure of all the UK-based legacy parts from Harry’s back catalogue – his section from Cover Version by Kevin Parrott and Dan Magee.

Obviously there are a ton of other Harry Lintell parts out there – hit Harry’s name earlier in this sentence to peep those.
And now, without further bollocks – see below for the first Real video and then go bask in the reality that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards. Esse quam videri, innit?

Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax

Monday, August 2nd, 2021

Can’t fuck with Harry now can you?
Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax is the latest northern-focused mind-melter from Black Sheep family member Mr. Harry Lintell.
Filmed over the last year in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and various other northern cities – this is the fruit of Harry’s next level ability and the removal of mainstream security from shit loads of spots during the Covid lockdown.

With long-time Mancunian film maker Sean Lomax behind the lens and Harry in front of it, this was never going to be anything less than brilliant and, surprise, surprise – that’s exactly what it is – brilliant.
It’s literally just dropped on Thrasher’s YouTube channel so we’ll keep the chat to a minimum – go watch Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax right now. It’s a belter!
Big up all involved.

One brief thing that made us laugh was the switch backtail in London, which isn’t exactly in fitting with Thrasher’s blurb about filming locations but hey, it’s only one trick and the ender’s filmed in a carpark in Stockport so, whatever…

Also, just for good measure, after you’ve watched Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax, give your brain a reminder of another Lintell – Lomax collaboration. See below.

Louie Lopez and Tiago Lemos keep it pumping for 2021

Saturday, March 27th, 2021

The dynamic duo of Louie Lopez and Tiago Lemos have both dropped nuggets of respective gold this week.
Two of our (and no doubt yours too) favourite non-SOTY winners just keep on producing.
First up is Brazilian power house Tiago Lemos with a short but banging commercial for Primitive skate.
Once memorably described on the venerable PWBC News as skating like ‘Enrique Lorenzo on high grade steroids’ – Tiago can do little wrong on our eyes. Yes, it was the over waist high switch backtail at MACBA that made him globally famous but there’s much more to him than that. Running mega pop on a Kareem Campbell level with a trick bag as wide as his smile – just sit back and soak up the supernatural skills.
State of that nollie crooks!

Louie Lopez and Tiago Lemos

Once you’ve digested big man casually leaping over waist-high bump to bars, prepare your eyes for another onslaught. We post about Louie Lopez a lot and have done since his midget days on Flip skateboards. If ever there was proof of Flip’s talent-spotting prowess then it’s the trajectory of this Hawthorne, L.A. raised ripper. Fresh off the back of his recent full length part for Converse Cons back in December, Louie is back again with four and a half minutes of truly outstanding skating for Fucking Awesome (or do we call it ‘FA World Entertainment’ now in tacit acknowledgement that ‘Fucking Awesome’ is an embarrassing name?).
Nomenclature issues aside – baldy comes through as always with 3 minutes of amazing lines bleeding into a minute and a half long ‘hammer section’. Filmed at a variety of presumably Covid-liberated downtown spots, along with a smattering of classics: watch out for the Venice ledges banger and a brief ressurection of the OG Beryl bank to curb. Very little more needs to be said honestly – the guy’s a pisstake and, as the blipvert of his t-shirt says ‘You must remember shit’. Cryptic? Perhaps. Banging? Undeniably.

December video drop – Kalis, Louie, Alexis and Deathwish

Saturday, December 5th, 2020

Well God damn. Winter’s arrived but 2020’s December video drop begins and it’s already staggering.
We’re struggling to think of stronger start for the run up to Christmas and the inevitable slew of SOTY hunger. We’re only a week in too!

First up is the latest from the indisputable OG himself, Josh Kalis.
With a back catalogue stretching into the earliest 90s big kegs era (peep the red strides in his 1993 H-Street Lick debut), Kalis has nothing to prove. True to form though, this has never slowed his output.
The latest drop from Josh Kalis sees him delivering a ledge masterclass at his local DIY.
All the timeless Kalis moves, classic tunes and general good vibes as the weather closes in.
If this one doesn’t have you lusting after cargo pants then you need to squeegee your third eye.

December video drop – Kalis, Louie, Alexis and Deathwish

Next up, hot on the heels of November’s ‘Alright, Ok’ from Vans is Converse Cons‘ offering to the content Gods. ‘Seize The Seconds’ dropped with minimal prehype and delivered like a postie on speed. Not only do you get one of the greatest ever moments in skateboarding history courtesy of uber-legend Alexis Sablone, you also get cameos from the likes of Tommy Guerrero and Bobby DeKeyzer. If that’s not enough – Louie Lopez also drops a full part and somehow one-ups himself again. Truly bonkers. Ben Chardourne smashed it. There’s a lovely Ben Raemers tribute too – thank you Cons.

December video drop – Kalis, Louie, Alexis and Deathwish

Last, but by no mean least, is the new Deathwish full-length ‘Uncrossed’.
Sadly not available on YouTube (presumably due to music rights issues) ‘Uncrossed’ serves up what must go down as one of the most wildly suicidally-minded selection of skating in recent history.
Front krooks through double kinks, kickflips over entire streets and a Pedro Delfino part that’ll soil your pants for you. Truly insane. Peep the teaser below and then sink your teeth into the full meal over at the Thrasher magazine site.

Go watch, get stoked and try to ignore how cold it is.
We’re only a week into December – Christ only knows what the next three will bring!

A double dose of Louie Lopez courtesy of Converse Cons & FA

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020

A right old treat here with a double dose of Louie Lopez, dropping virtually simultaneously from Converse Cons and FA. Is there a better human representation of a skateboarding come-up based on sheer talent and humility than that of LA’s very own Mr Lopez?
Louie’s skateboarding journey has been documented and under the microscope from the tender age of 13. For many, this attention has proved to be a destructive force, releasing the twin demons of underage insanity and regrettable kiddy-style documentation – for a variety of reasons however, Louie Lopez has managed to swerve this wunderkind curse and mature into one of the most highly rated skaters on the planet.

Louie’s earliest exposure was as the long-haired and brace-wearing mini ripper announced in Globe footwear’s United by Fate (2007) and then cemented into skate lore in his banger 2009 Extremely Sorry part for former sponsors Flip Skateboards.
Despite the expected sniping of the time, aimed squarely at Flip skateboards‘ acquisition of Louie, (along with fellow murder midgets Curren Caples and David Gonzalez) Jeremy Fox, Ian Deacon and Geoff Rowley‘s eye for talent was vindicated once again with all three additions maturing into some of the gnarliest skaters on the planet a few years later.

A double dose of Louie Lopez

This first of this week’s double dose of Louie Lopez comes in the form of a three minute part (we think it’s solid enough to warrant that description) filmed in and around Louie’s native LA during the last 6 months of lockdown. Hands get sliced open by skate-stoppers, the infamous LAX banks get treated to an unfathomable backside noseblunt slide shove it, the Sister Sledge track rules and there’s little to no bullshit over-zoom filming. In short – it’s everything that you could ask for in a clip. Get it watched immediately.

If you’re not satisfied by the Converse Cons ‘Lola’ clip above never fear, as Jason Dill and AVE‘s FA World Entertainment have your back with a slightly shorter, slightly rawer but equally as cracking expose of Louie’s undeniable talents in the form of the ‘The Louie Lopez II’.

Rough Cut: Louie Lopez’s “West End” Part

louie-lopez-poll-jam-acosta

Louie Lopez seriously ain’t no joke! As the tiny framed Flip Skateboard’s prodigy to full blown mind blowing Pro. Take the time to witness his silky smooth abilities on a skateboard and take a moment after each ridiculously trick and let them sink in.

Massive fans of his work here at The Black Sheep, the guy just ‘plays’ at skating and makes it look all to simple and fun. Mr Mellow laid back reflects consistently in his huge footage output.

Who else has put out the coverage of Louie!? He’s constantly on one and as the skateboard industry rumor mill is to be believed then his full forthcoming part for Converse Cons is going to be another mind blower!

Again it’s thanks to Thrasher Magazine for putting this remix ‘Rough Cut’ edit out. With over 20 minutes of futuristic skateboarding by Flip Skateboard’s finest. Bear witness and keep them peeled as they say for announcements of his up and coming Cons part. More info from us soon….

Louie Lopez’s “West End” Part For Thrasher

Louie Lopez’s “West End” Part For Thrasher.

Everyone’s saying it but holy hell what a time to put out a part like this with the looming coveted Thrasher ‘Skater Of The Year’ title up for grabs. Louie Lopez was already well on target for achieving the peoples vote with a serious amount of footage throughout 2017 for sponsors Flip Skateboards, Converse Cons, Volcom etc etc… but pretty sure Ladbrookes wouldn’t give you good odds now after the below “West End” part for Thrasher Magazine.

We’ve been a big fan of Louie Lopez watching him grow up under the talent spotting Flip Skateboards and to see how he’s developed a faultless style along with taking skating to the next mental control level yet keeping it looking so effortlessly.

Converse Cons Asia Garuda Tour

Monday, July 10th, 2017

Late last year the Converse Cons Asia team embarked on their Garuda tour. The trip saw them travel through Indonesia, hitting up cities like Bandung, Makassar City and Jakarta. The team had to battle Indonesia’s sweltering heat, crazy traffic and tropical rain to discover the country, it’s spots and local ripping scene. Press play now to check out Tao Kitpullap, Lert Saeri, Jeff Gonzales, Geng Jakkarin and Absar Lebeh shredding in Asia.
