Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards

Thursday, September 2nd, 2021

Well, it’s been a long time coming but finally Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards. UK-based British skateboarders turning pro for American board companies is still very rare, (was Kyron Davies the last one?) but with Harry it was only a matter of time.
Funnily enough, Harry filmed the ender for his 2011 Sidewalk magazine ‘In Progress’ part exactly ten years ago, (September 1st 2011) so it’s pretty wild that 10 years and 1 day later, his name will finally adorn a pro model. As a long-time Black Sheep family member who has been tied into everything we do for a decade at least, it definitely feels great to legitimately be able to say out loud that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards.
Whatever your views are on the current situation of wider skateboarding culture in 2021, it’s going to take a pure bellend to question Harry’s right to this one. I mean yeah, it’s Real Skateboards, one of the first post Bones Brigade/post Steve Rocco skater-owned brands with a heritage stretching back to 1991 and founded by Tommy Guerrero and Jim Thiebaud but, on the other hand, this is Harry fucking Lintell we’re talking about.
Before I get too carried away force feeding you nuggets of video history let’s all just take a minute, breathe in and reflect on how fucking cool this is. A kid from Ashford in Kent, ‘discovered’ via a DVS get yourself sponsored contest in Sidewalk magazine, who went on to ride for a number of board brands through his friendship with all of here at Black Sheep (Jart, then Superdead) has gone on to move to Manchester, make waves globally and end up with a pro board on probably the most venerable skater-owned skate company on the planet. And we had to pretend we didn’t know about it in order to pull off his in-store board release party that happened tonight (Sept 2nd 2021). What a fucking trip.

You can buy yourself one of Harry’s boards (which will sell out very quickly make no mistake) by clicking below. You know what to do.

Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards

With the above said, and in celebration of the fact that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards, allow me the liberty of throwing a few possibly lesser known Lintell bangers at your eyes because, well just because…

First up, Harry’s 2011 Sidewalk ‘In Progress’ referenced above – the 5050 on the kinked subway rail in Sheffield was filmed on Sept 1st 2011 – quite the coincidence.

Next up, a pretty obscure one that I’m assuming many people won’t have seen but that absolutely deserves a re-watch. This is the i-Path shoes entry for the 2010 Big Push and Harry’s final trick in Leeds is still FUCKED 11 years later. The video is set to play from the start of Harry’s section but the whole piece is worth your eyes.

Next up is Harry’s Volcom ‘True to this’ part filmed by long-term friend and cohort Kevin Parrott. Again, watch this, consider the fact that it’s 6 years old and weep at the knowledge that Harry did the switch flip over the rail at Southbank on three separate occasions.

And last but by no means least and probably the least obscure of all the UK-based legacy parts from Harry’s back catalogue – his section from Cover Version by Kevin Parrott and Dan Magee.

Obviously there are a ton of other Harry Lintell parts out there – hit Harry’s name earlier in this sentence to peep those.
And now, without further bollocks – see below for the first Real video and then go bask in the reality that Harry Lintell is pro for Real skateboards. Esse quam videri, innit?

Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax

Monday, August 2nd, 2021

Can’t fuck with Harry now can you?
Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax is the latest northern-focused mind-melter from Black Sheep family member Mr. Harry Lintell.
Filmed over the last year in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and various other northern cities – this is the fruit of Harry’s next level ability and the removal of mainstream security from shit loads of spots during the Covid lockdown.

With long-time Mancunian film maker Sean Lomax behind the lens and Harry in front of it, this was never going to be anything less than brilliant and, surprise, surprise – that’s exactly what it is – brilliant.
It’s literally just dropped on Thrasher’s YouTube channel so we’ll keep the chat to a minimum – go watch Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax right now. It’s a belter!
Big up all involved.

One brief thing that made us laugh was the switch backtail in London, which isn’t exactly in fitting with Thrasher’s blurb about filming locations but hey, it’s only one trick and the ender’s filmed in a carpark in Stockport so, whatever…

Also, just for good measure, after you’ve watched Harry Lintell ‘Northern Grit’ by Sean Lomax, give your brain a reminder of another Lintell – Lomax collaboration. See below.

March roundup: Ace trucks and Krooked skateboards

Sunday, April 25th, 2021

Steady month for videos so far with Ace trucks and Krooked skateboards surfing the momentum of Quasi’s April opener. First up (there) is a belter of a montage from Ace trucks featuring their diverse team. Enjoi’s Danish superhuman Didrik ‘Deedz’ Galasso opens it open with a brace of insane looking spots and a cameo from fellow Dane and Polar skateboards rider Ville Wester. What follows is 8 minutes of short contributions from the likes of Leo Baker, Max Palmer, Raven Tershay, Ronnie Sandoval, Palace skateboardsCharlie Birch and our very own Black sheep family member Harry Lintell. If this one doesn’t get you interested in swapping your undercarriage up and trying out Ace trucks then your eyes are probably made of chewing gum.

Next up is another unbelievably fantastic release from DLXSF’s Mark Gonzales led vehicle Krooked skateboards. ‘Magic Art Supplies’ is nominally an introductory vehicle for Krooked skateboards new blood Eddie Cernicky and Caleb McNeely, both of whom come through hard. Cernicky opens this 18 minute banger up with a brace of insane wallride tricks and heavy OG San Francisco spot lurking, (think China Banks, EMB and the hills). Caleb McNeely’s part serves as his official welcome to the team and delivers, with everything from 360 flips over full sized bins to a new variation for the weary JKown gap. Good shit.
There are little Gonz clips in between each part, some of which looked to have been self-filmed on his laptop, plus the best frontside invert you’re likely to see a 50 year old do this decade.

With the above said, whilst this is presented as an intro to Krooked skateboards newest riders, it is Krooked skateboards OG Mike ‘Manderson’ Anderson who takes the last 5 minutes with a full part of epic proportions. Despite being incredible forever, Manderson is a somewhat underappreciated and under the radar figure we feel, but this part will more than do the shouting that he’s too modest to do for himself.
Basically – fucking hell! You’ll know when you see it. Insane.

Go peep our huge range of Krooked skateboards if this one’s got your toes itching.
Enjoy the sun!

Harry Lintell in Milan for Vague with Munro and Barney Page

Tuesday, January 5th, 2021

Harry Lintell in Milan anyone? Vague magazine starting 2021 off with bang courtesy of Black Sheep family member Harry Lintell in Milan for Vague, alongside Charlie Munro and Barney Page. We’re not really sure if it’s appropriate to wish you all a Happy New Year seeing as our ever capable government have just locked us all in the house again but this will occupy 5 minutes where you’re not fretting about bog roll at least.
Hairy Lentils footage is always a treat, so seeing his ridiculous skills set alongside the equally mental abilities of UK cohorts Barney Page and Charlie Munro, is just adding delicious cherries to an already scrumptious skateboard cake. (Where am I going with this…?)

With UK-import and firm VX1000 favourite Quentin ‘@pertharms’ Guthrie behind the camera, you should know already that the filming and editing in this will be seamless and focused on showing the skating in the best possible light, which is sadly less common than it ought to be these days.
If you’re keen to see some of Quentin’s previous releases after watching this banger – we’d recommend starting with his 2016 maiden voyage (as far as UK footage goes) in the shape of ‘Brexit’ below.
If you enjoy that, (which you most definitely will) – head over to his pertharms YouTube channel for more.

Anyway, to return to the matter at hand, namely Harry Lintell in Milan for Vague: as you’d expect Harry royally fucks shit up, opening up the clip with a brace of tasty lines and introducing Mister Page and Munro who also deliver hard on the footage front. The UK trio are also joined by Milan resident and Baker skateboards pro Jacopo Carozzi who drops a line oozing with style and grace. Interestingly for a Milan clip, ‘Travel Corridor’ has minimal Milan train station plaza footage and offers up a bunch of new (to me at least) amazing spots from elsewhere in this Italian metropolis.
Two immense thumbs up for UK Primitive and New Balance Numeric rider Charlie Munro’s ender too – did somebody say ‘pinch’?
That’s it for now. Stay safe everyone.

UK Primitive rider Charlie Munro scores two covers

Friday, May 1st, 2020

UK Primitive rider Charlie Munro scores two covers of two different UK skate magazines in April.
Bagging yourself two magazine covers in the same month is an achievement in itself but doing so whilst the entire country is under lock down is something that’s (hopefully) unlikely to be repeated any time soon.
We felt that this was worthy of a donation of virtual knucks to Cambridge-born ginger ripper and UK Primitive rider Charlie Munro really, and because, let’s face it – we’ve not really got much else to do than stare at skate clips right now have we?

For the sake of clarity – you can see both of Charlie Munro‘s quarantine-themed covers here: the first was the cover of Grey released in early April, followed yesterday by an equally banging cover of Vague. I’m almost certain that this is something that hasn’t happened previously – yeah there have been times when more than one skate mag has had the same person on the cover but I don’t think that it’s ever happened in the same month – and certainly not under the crazy circumstances that we’re living through right now.

Anyway with cyber props out of the way – might as well revel in a little bit of Munro juice really mightn’t we?
First rising to prominence via the Get Lesta series of videos, Charlie has subsequently gone on to achieve notoriety across the globe, be a semi-regular fixture amidst Thrasher’s never ending web output, and get a legit (non-distro) direct sponsorship deal from the skateboarding super team of the modern era – namely Primitive Skateboards. Not bad for a ginner eh?
With his two covers landing in our store right now – what better excuse to air a few banging parts from the Munro back catalogue?

Above you can see a couple of our favourite bits of Charlie footage from the Get Lesta era – including the one (at the very top) made to celebrate the release of the 2016 Get Lesta x Primitive skateboarding collab.
Below you can check out Charlie’s outstanding contribution to Kev Parrott and Dan Magee’s masterful independent release ‘Cover Version’ – it’s set to play from the beginning of Charlie’s section but honestly, just watch the whole thing, it’s amazing and Black Sheep family member Harry Lintell has the last part.

UK Primitive rider Charlie Munro Primitive skateboards Marvel

As well as all the above, here’s the clip from 2019’s UK visitation from the Primitive skateboarding crew – not bad for a few days eh? Whilst you’re at it – I’d recommend hitting up the hyperlink here too and watching the utter devastation that the Primitive lot brought to Bay Sixty6 back in August of 2019. Craziest demo I’ve ever seen, hands down.

Finally, for now at least – check out Charlie Munro in the latest video from Pocket magazine featuring him and a host of other European rippers tearing up the ridiculous marble spots of the UAE. I’m not convinced by trap music still but this clip’s a banger.

If all of this has whet your appetite to jump on some Charlie Munro related product, why not head over to our web store and check out the range of Marvel x Primitive boards that just came in? You know it makes sense.
In a bit…

Black Sheep family in Isaac Wilkinson Isolation clip

Tuesday, April 14th, 2020

Heavy representation here with a brace of the Black Sheep family in Isaac Wilkinson‘s Isolation clip.
Released last week, this is big man’s donation to the cause with a steady four minutes and fourteen seconds of unseen Manchester ripping. Not entirely sure when Isaac filmed this but presumably during the period between releasing his 2016 independent skate video ‘O-One’Fuckin’-6-One‘ and his more recent ascension into the London ranks of camera-wielding media nodes.
For any of you unaware of Isaac Wilkinson’s past record in skate video-making, you can fill in any gaps that you might have here via a fairly extensive interview with the man himself conducted back in 2016.

Isaac’s latest, whilst billed as little more than an airing of some unused footage, is, in actuality, pretty much a full length banger of a clip featuring Black Sheep family heads Eddie Belvedere, Harry Lintell, Jiri Bulin, Ricky Davidson, Seb Batty, Lucien Costello and Sam Mason. Isaac’s probably just being modest by describing it as a clearing out of the hard drives given that he’s now big-manned it to London levels of kneeling in piss filming people eating teacakes or whatever it is that he’s currently engaged in. Nevertheless, this is a straight up banger and more than deserving of your time. Isaac is and forever will be a strong member of the Black Sheep family, whether he’s living in that London or not.

As we’ve touched on the topic in this here post and because, let’s face it – any distraction from being locked in the house is good enough right now: why not remind yourselves of just how banging Isaac’s 2016 Manchester video still is by engaging eyeballs below?

First up is new dad and crust DIY supremo Jiri Bulin’s section from said video.

Following that you’ve got Seb Batty’s section to enjoy.

Jump on the link here for our YouTube channel to peep the rest, plus a bunch of other archive content that we’ve uploaded over the years. If nothing else, it’ll keep you awake for a few more hours.

Lastly, but not least – big love to all our customers who have continued to stand by us and kept the orders flowing in during the lockdown. We’ve got whatever it is you need and we’re on it daily, so if you need anything – you know where to come. You are all Black Sheep family.

Graystone Skatepark Manchester – Black Sheep Family

Graystone Skatepark Manchester – Black Sheep Family

One recent mid winter evening we where cordially invited to go check out the newest indoor skate park for Manchester. Graystone Action Sports Academy Manchester is somewhat different to the dark, dingy skate-parks we’ve all grown up with. Instead your welcomed with cleanliness, good lighting, one seriously impressive layout by the FourOneFour park builders and to top it all off you can enjoy some chef made food and (for the non-drivers) partake in an arrange of beverages.

We’ve been told there’s more to come from this Manchester based facility to add to the trampoline, snowboard foam pit jump and general craziness of the place. Expect a sprung floor insulation, ninja climbing centre, on site yoga classes and much, much more. At this point let me just state the square footage of the place still remains around 80% pure heavenly Russian birch skate-park paradise.

Huge thanks for the invite and session. Get your viewing pleasure on below and see the fruits of labour from that recent winter evening session. As you may be aware the #BlackSheepFamily go off at any given opportunity so it’s no surprise they bagged a minute and half’s worth of footage with more to spare.

Featuring Black Sheep Store team riders Harry Lintell, Seb Batty, Lucien Costello, Sam Mason and the latest young-gun recruit and all around terrain killer Leo James. All filmed in just a two hour session followed by beer, bants and fat cut chips for afters. Thanks again to Graystone Action Sports Academy for the hook up.

Props to Lewis Royden and Will Berry from Amfas Skateboards for the filming & editing duties.

Go follow Graystone Action Sports Academy Instagram for more details on opening hours, session times, prices and more.
