Nike SB Constant – new Nike SB video with heavy UK presence

Thursday, June 3rd, 2021

Nike SB Constant, what’s in a name eh? Constant as in ‘constantly releasing content’? Constant as in, ‘fuck Covid, Nike SB are still out filming?’ Maybe even, ‘Nike SB Constant, because there are mad rumours online’. I’m guessing it could be any/all of the above to be honest. If you pay attention to Instagram comment threads or the Slap forum then you might be aware of some of these Swoosh developments. Global brand leads moving on, ex Blueprint pros leaving, Olympians not wearing Nikes any more, etc.
Ultimately none of the above really means that much to the likes of you and I but it’s always interesting to speculate isn’t it?

Nike SB Constant

Nike SB would’ve been hard-pressed to drop a stronger two finger salute to the scurrilous rumours mentioned above than
with this video. This piece serves up 30 minutes of severe pisstake skateboarding. And when I say ‘pisstake’ I genuinely mean it.
This has to be hands down the most inclusive and diverse video Nike B have ever put out. From massive transition to manuals, a truly eclectic squad guarantees this a spot on the ‘web clips that qualify as actual videos’ list.
Grant Taylor kicks things off and shares the intro with Eric ‘I’m funny honestly’ Koston before Primitive ubermensch Carlos Ribeiro blows the doors off. This dude is supernaturally talented – so much innovative rail tech, crazy lines and the most composed style. Truly astounding. Sean Malto pops up during this barrage of Brazilian technicality, (weirdly set to a remix of Kenny Reed’s tune from New Deal’s ‘Seven Year Glitch’) but whatever: it’s cool to see Malto back again.
From there we are straight into an epic UK section featuring Atlantic Drift and Swoosh representatives Kyron Davies, Korahn Gayle, Casper Brooker, Kyle Wilson and Chris Jones. This is amazing to see – all five hold their own amidst probably the heaviest Nike SB video ever made so mad props to the lads. Buy Korahn a pint next time you see him.
Following the Uk contingent is Daan van der Linden who has been stuck on the injury bench a lot since joining Nike. As such, I’m unsure whether the footage on Nike SB Constant is old or new but either way, it’s a reminder why he’s just dropped his own fishing themed shoe. Ridiculous.
The bangers just keep on exploding with a solid Australian section featuring all manner of heads. Likewise, Nike SB’s female team get plenty of shine with Nicole Hause in particular dropping heavy street and transition footage alongside Elissa Steamer BGPs. Can’t ask for more can you?
Rightful holders of the Nike SB Constant curtains are Polar Skate Co pro and qualified Swedish Olympian Oski and the superhuman Grant Taylor. It’s pointless to even begin to try and express how off the charts this section of the video is. Jaw dropping, literally. Just go watch it – you’ll soil yourselves.

December top 3 – Atlantic Drift, Skate Cafe and Blondey

Tuesday, December 17th, 2019

It’s been a great month so far for UK-related video releases so here’s Black Sheep’s December top 3 – Atlantic Drift, Skate Cafe and Blondey.

First up, the latest in the Atlantic Drift series: Jacob Harris continues to disprove the tired moan that ‘the Internet is ruining skateboard videos’ by dropping yet another sublimely re-watchable clip via Thrasher Magazine.
The tenth Atlantic Drift sees the extended crew over in Russia sampling post-Soviet marble and some of the roughest looking bank spots this side of Blackburn. If you’ve watched the previous episodes of Atlantic Drift then you’ll know what to expect: if you haven’t – dive into the Atlantic Drift back catalogue here.
Once you’ve watched this month’s Thrasher cover star Tom Knox destroying Moscow, you could do a lot worse than to check out our massive range of Thrasher clothing (including a huge sale section) and/or pick yourself up some New Balance Numeric kicks and help support the dudes behind this pinnacle of Internet skateboarding. Who knows? They might even release them all on DVD one day.
Also, if you appreciate Photoshop comedy – go check out this Tom Knox/Mike Arnold merriment here.

Following that banger is the latest VX1000 drop from UK brand Skateboard Cafe entitled ‘Sonata’.
Coming in at a steady 10 minutes, this is another bog break worthy pause for anyone who has missed it so far.
Featuring the likes of Sam Nobbs, Ollie Lock, Francis Peters, Dom Henry, Korahn Gayle, Josh Arnott, Harry Ogilvie, Shaun Currie, Savannah Stacey Keenan and the stair chomping Layth Sami – this is Skate Cafe at its best: Bristol and London heavy, jazz music and archaic camera aesthetics. Can’t go wrong really.
Sit down and take a sip.

If you’re still hungry for UK related Internet enjoyment then look no further than Blondey McCoy’s first post-Palace skateboards full-lengther (well, Internet ‘full lengther’ at least).
Now you’re fucked if watching this makes you thirsty for a pair of his see-through adidas Skateboarding Superstar 80’s, as we sold out of them in 5 hours but, the video clip is still more than worth a watch.
He’s an divisive character is Blondey – to some he’s an over-privileged kid whose skateboarding is over shadowed by his fashion persona but, to just as many, he’s a UK based ripper following a sponsorship path almost unthinkable five years ago. Either way, he’s got a mean ollie impossible on him.
Still not keen on the Kanye track though…

With that said – whilst you can’t purchase his transparent skate shoes from us any more (unless there’s a post-Christmas re-stock) – you can still get yourself knee deep in solid adidas Skateboarding footwear as we have absolutely shed loads of it in stock.
Peep these Metropolitan adidas Superstar 80’s below for a similar vibe, only without the potential for showing off your verrucas.

If you’re still not satisfied then we strongly recommend that you jump straight onto Instagram and follow @meetatbenjys for a glimpse into Dan Magee’s massive archive of Blueprint skateboards VX1000 gold right now.

Over and out…
