Not everyday you see such a heavy hitting part from UK soil. Joe Hinson more than ever showing his worth with his spot on the Darkstar Skateboards team.
So whilst battling injuries (hardly surprising with the spots he skates!) working full time along with a Global pandemic Joe’s seen fit to put out another rail chomping, heavy sets stomping of a part. For any non UK skaters that may be reading/watching this please take our word that the spots you see in this are really not ‘spots’ but more like horrible ground, rusty jaggedly rails and a strong possibility of a mossy wet roll out.
Props to Darkstar Skateboards for backing Black Sheep rider Joe Hinson, could it be one day he’ll be the first UK pro…!?
Click the play button below for some genuine UK crust and untouched spots get a royal Britannia seeing to by Sir Hinson.
Whilst Joe’s currently holed up nursing an injury this part for Darkstar Skateboards came from no where!
If you know UK skateboarding and the spots/weather we have to deal with you’ll appreciate this part even more. Joe Hinson ain’t afraid to go full tilt on the ruggedest terrain. Half the “spots” in this “Rugged Kingdom” part are made up of pieces of ply run up’s and dirt landings. Imagine hitting a huge rail knowing what you had to ride out of if you make the bottom of it!
Seriously for those unaware parts like this don’t come by so often with such heavy hitting skating on UK home turf. These rails, gaps and conditions don’t lend themselves to hammer parts so believe how shocking this Rugged Kingdom part really is.
Hat’s off to Darkstar Skateboards representing a UK rider and backing him hard with his now third full part. No doubt Joe’s mind is already planning out the next one after these few months injury hiatus.
Good work Joe and prop’s to Darkstar and Dwindle Dist for the support. Now get your viewing on below-

Enjoy below for as raw as it get’s power skateboarding from Sir Brandon Westgate!
So it’s been a hot minute since we see Sean Lomax going it alone again for another full length production of documenting the Manchester Skateboarding scene. If you seen any of Sean’s past work you’ll know his integrity and down right unique sick way he captures such a vibrant scene. We’ve compiled some of his finest ‘skateboarding’ work for you below but watch and be aware that all this work is made outside of his real job of doing high end TV production filming. The dedication is always a true reflection of Lomax’s craft and the finished product is always something that stands the test of time.
If you not already seen the hype for this premiere on social media then just be sure your in attendance Friday the 1st March (doors open at 19.00.) To give the newly named ‘Cottonopolis Video‘ it’s deservedly premier the Manchester Skateboarding scene will be treated to a real cinema style setting. This is not for those lurkers just after the free beer whilst squinting at a little monitor, this is sure to be a more rowdy yet civilized affair. Entry on the door will be a donation of just £4.00 and we’ve been advised the younger skaters may attend in the company of a responsible adult. Click the link for venue info at NIAMOS Center Hulme.

Big up to all the featured skaters no matter who you rider for it’s always inspiring to see such a tight crew as it was and how it should be. And obvious props to Sean for his continued documentation of the above mentioned skate scene. Always got big love for the Independent producers, artist, photographers, retailers etc as the true shine always reflects in there chosen art. Filmed at spots Worldwide with plentiful cameos from the legends normally hidden behind the lens. The pro and am list is pretty endless also with appearances from the list featured below. And say what! even new Eric Koston footage mixed in with his steep street skating history of some unseen clips. Then of course the notorious Guy Mariano never fails to impress. He may only put out the best of the best footage nowadays but my goodness it’s pure gold dust as ever!
Basically this video is one showcase (and film reel) of the fun side of professional skateboarding. As it is in every car-park around the World it’s just skaters having a blast with there mates. As mentioned even down to the filmers/photographers getting there shine.
Some stand out highlights without giving to much away. Jerry Hsu ‘Red Red Wine’ part is pure style gold. Gonz cameo just because he’s the Gonz basically. The snippet of the previously mentioned Guy Mariano. Skateboarding’s magician Rowan Zorilla, so so good at any spot and natural style/ability way beyond his years. This one will take a few watches, not only is it over the hour mark but there’s just so many damn folk you’ll miss the first time round. Feel the good times flow in this much loved sequel for ‘Boys Of Summer’ and serious props to all involved in bringing this master piece together.

Graystone Skatepark Manchester – Black Sheep Family
One recent mid winter evening we where cordially invited to go check out the newest indoor skate park for Manchester. Graystone Action Sports Academy Manchester is somewhat different to the dark, dingy skate-parks we’ve all grown up with. Instead your welcomed with cleanliness, good lighting, one seriously impressive layout by the FourOneFour park builders and to top it all off you can enjoy some chef made food and (for the non-drivers) partake in an arrange of beverages.
We’ve been told there’s more to come from this Manchester based facility to add to the trampoline, snowboard foam pit jump and general craziness of the place. Expect a sprung floor insulation, ninja climbing centre, on site yoga classes and much, much more. At this point let me just state the square footage of the place still remains around 80% pure heavenly Russian birch skate-park paradise.
Huge thanks for the invite and session. Get your viewing pleasure on below and see the fruits of labour from that recent winter evening session. As you may be aware the #BlackSheepFamily go off at any given opportunity so it’s no surprise they bagged a minute and half’s worth of footage with more to spare.
Featuring Black Sheep Store team riders Harry Lintell, Seb Batty, Lucien Costello, Sam Mason and the latest young-gun recruit and all around terrain killer Leo James. All filmed in just a two hour session followed by beer, bants and fat cut chips for afters. Thanks again to Graystone Action Sports Academy for the hook up.
Props to Lewis Royden and Will Berry from Amfas Skateboards for the filming & editing duties.
New Balance have started the new year in style with a brand new Brandon Westgate part to celebrate his #913 pro shoe. It was only a couple of months ago that Brandon opened up Element Skateboard’s full length video ‘Peace’ and the beast from the East amazed us then and he doesn’t disappoint here either! Westgate has always had that big boy pop ( whilst only being a smallish kinda dude! ) with a fast a relentless approach, just check out that kickflip still below ! When you see the footage you won’t belive how actually gnarly it really is!
