Volcom’s Hell of a Summer Video

Monday, July 17th, 2017

It’s hot and dry, standard procedure for an Australian summer morning, but as the Volcom team approached Sydney International airport the temperature kept rising and rising. They had hit Sydney the same time as a heat wave before heading into the wider land of Oz for spot hunting and alcohol fueled fun with The Skateboarders Journal on hand to capture the action as they went. So one thing was for certain, they were in for one hell of a trip, a trip that just so happens to have collided head on with one hell of a summer.

Volcom ‘Euro Stokes’ Edit

Thursday, October 20th, 2016

A couple of months previous to the infamous release of the Volcom Holy Stokes video the Volcom dudes decided to gather a crew and hit some spots in the UK and Europe to try and gather some last minute footage for the video. The van consisted of our very own Harry Lintell and then Ben Raemers, Eniz Fazliov, Alain Goikoetxea and Daan van der Linden, along with flow riders Dan West, Charlie Birch, Gav Coughlin and Victor Pellegrin. Now that’s a power crew and it’s no surprise the guys managed to produce enough footage to not only add to their parts in Holy Stokes but to also produce this fine edit that is featured above, Euro Stokes. Skateboarding seriously doesn’t get much better than this and if you’re after a short video that consists of all different styles of skateboarding then this is definitely for you. Start watching right now and get hyped on your next shred. There was also an article on the Sidewalk Magazine website that documented all the happenings from the trip so be sure to check that out too as there are some photographic gems in there, hit the link below to do so…

Axel Cruysberghs’ “Holy Stokes!” Over Stokes

Thursday, July 7th, 2016

Axel Cruysberghs is an all-terrain animal. He can log tricks at any spot that is put in front of him and that showed massively in his Volcom’s Holy Stokes video part. In conjunction with his part in Holy Stokes you can now watch his Over Stokes part that involves all the raw footage from the video. It also includes some never been seen before clips so what’s stopping you from giving it a quick watch. It is 5 minutes of pure power footage and despite it having no music in the background, it will still get you as hyped as ever. Watch it now, the Axel Cruysberghs “Holy Stokes!” Over Stokes part.

Louie Lopez’s “HOLY STOKES!” Over Stokes

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

Hopefully you’ve all seen the new Volcom ‘Holy Stokes’ video by now, if you haven’t then it is available to purchase on itunes as we speak for just £6.99. A bargain for one of skateboarding’s latest videos. As expected Holy Stokes features Louie Lopez, who has been a member of the Volcom team since he was a little nipper. His part on it is possible one of the best on there from my point of view. He definitely isn’t the small kid we all know him as anymore. His style has evolved massively and now thanks to Thrasher Magazine you can watch his Louie Lopez’s “HOLY STOKES!” Over Stokes video. It features footage that was used in Holy Stokes but then you’ve also got some clips that have never been seen before until now. This raw 10 minute watch is incredible and if you aren’t hyped by the end then something must be up.

Black Sheep – Volcom Spring ’16

Wednesday, March 30th, 2016

It’s officially Spring, the clocks have been put forward an hour, the weather is picking up, flowers are starting to bloom but most importantly the Volcom Spring 16 collection is available from us here at The Black Sheep Store. The stylish collection is on point as ever with Volcom, and you know that there is guaranteed high class quality. Consisting of some classy hoodies, tasteful jackets and the nifty Don Pendleton Stone Pocket designed tee (scan below for more,) the collection does not disappoint.

What better way to celebrate the release than to send shop rider, worker, lurker and UK Volcom representative Nick ‘Stannerz’ Stansfield out round the streets of Manchester to bring us a short but sweet edit. Filmed all in one day in locations across the city like Urbis, Riverside, Salford and of course The Black sheep! Nick comes through with the goods and even earns himself a pint at one of the local boozers. Massive thanks to Isaac Wilkinson for filming and of course our man Stannerz for smashing it!

‘HOLY STOKES – A Real Life Happening’ by Volcom

Thursday, March 24th, 2016

The Volcom video, ‘Holy Stokes – A Real Life Happening’ is just around the corner, well it is available on iTunes on 7th June to be exact. Volcom, being one of skateboarding’s biggest brands have a team that is not to be messed with. This new video that will be released a few months from now is going to be one to keep an eye out for, trust me. You’ll see the likes of Alec Majerus, Arto Saari, Caswell Berry, Chris Pfanner, Collin Provost, David Gonzalez, Dennis Busenitz, Grant Taylor, Louie Lopez, Dustin Dollin, Ryan Sheckler, Rune Glifberg and Ben Raemers. That’s just a few of many too, can you now understand how powerful ‘Holy Stokes’ is going to be? I’m personally most excited for Busenitz for obvious reasons then also Bean Raemers. Raemers, a skater from the UK making it onto a worldwide Volcom video, now that’s something to be proud of. For now have a little watch above to view the first of many trailers to come, HYPED!

Volcom – Bromancing The Stone

Wednesday, January 13th, 2016

volcom bromancing the stone

There’s an international Volcom video on the cards, so a few months back the Volcom European crew gathered in a couple of vans to help Ben Raemers accumulate some new footage for the in-progress film. The crew consisted of some Stone irregulars Harry Lintell, Eniz Fazliov and Alain Goikoetxea, with Victor Pellegrin, Dan West, Charlie Birch and Gav Coughlan also present for various stages of the journey to help dig through the good spots in any dry part of the country that the van could reach. Our shop rider Stannerz was due to join them too but after warming up at the infamous Stockport spice ledges he unfortunately tweaked his ankle before they had even arrived to collect him. Although that didn’t stop the hype man from sticking around for a couple of days entertaining as he often does. Sadly Raemers also took a tweak to the ankle meaning he had to leave early too. Despite the upsets the guys went on and managed to produce a fine article that can now be seen over on the Sidewalk Magazine site called Volcom – Bromancing The Stone. Have a look below at a glimpse of the article including some stuuning photos by Jelle Keppens that feature our shop rider Harry Lintell.

Eniz Fazliov making the most of Stevenage’s Bowes-Lyon skatepark, a park that was built during the mid 1970’s in the boom of UK skateboarding. Frontside Blunt decades after its construction. Powerful.

A trip around the UK isn’t right without including a visit up to Scotland. And where better than yet another historic Skatepark, Livingston. For those that have been unfortunate not to visit this place it is probably one of the hardest places to skate due to the cheese grater floor. You also can’t tell but the well known bank to wall featured above has a 30 foot drop on the other side making it one of the gnarliest things to skate. Raemers wasn’t shy though as he managed to bag a Frontside Blunt avoiding an early death. Literally mind blowing.

Harry Lintell, a skateboard destroyer, tinder extraordinaire, this guy will never disappoint in any aspect of life. He has been a valuable member our of team for some years now and as usual he’s done us guys proud yet again by taking a huge Backside Flip over this bump to bar that can be found somewhere in Liverpool. Eniz also took an Ollie over to wall-ride which is mental but you’ll have to visit the Sidewalk Magazine to view that one. Click the link to be directed to the whole article as you’d be stupid to miss this one.
